The empty bird’s nest

It looks like the bird’s nest has been abandoned now. We have not seen any birds flying to and from it for some time now. There has been no feathers on the ground, so we are quite sure there has been no mishaps.

Previously, the mother-bird had been actively flying to the nest and even playing with her reflection on our car’s windscreen several times a day. Some early mornings, we heard a lot of chirping too. But it’s all quiet now.

Let’s just hope the babies have hatched and the whole family has flown away now.

Sometimes, birds are known to abandon a ready-to-use nests due to the harsh weather, nonviable eggs or a sense of danger. It could be any of these reasons and we will never really know.
