  • It was the right call to return Kelly – she eats and eats!!

I’m so glad I made the right call to send Kelly back to her guardhouse. I just checked with the guard and he says Kelly has since eaten twice and drunk water. “Dia makan banyak, dia sudah ok”, he said. Music to my ears!! Below is the audio from the guard and a video too.…

  • Good to see you, Lizzie!

Remember Lizzie? It was in early September 2024 that we spotted this dog wandering helpless and haplessly around our neighbourhood, clearly lost. We started gaining her trust by feeding her. It took us 1.5 months before we could finally get her into our car and drove her to a kind neighbour who had agreed to…

  • Kelly goes home….to pee!

I made a judgment call. As already discussed with the guard who said Kelly is a lone cat who “suka bebas”, I decided to let Kelly go home today. The vet already said she could go home last night itself, but I decided to keep her overnight to monitor her. Just now, I released her…

  • Kelly eats on her own!!

At 8.28am this morning, the magic happened! Kelly finally ate by herself, but this happened only after a round of force feeding. Yummy kibble or yummy canned food, Kelly? Take your pick, please. Answer: Neither. She just sniffed at both and decided she would not eat. So I carried her out of the carrier and…

  • A chance encounter with a rescuer

I was at the vet’s yesterday with Kelly and I saw a lady bring in eight dogs for neutering. There were also two other ladies who were ahead of us and they had brought in a tortoise. I learnt a lot about compassion yesterday, from these three ladies. And I am truly thankful for the…

  • Kelly Cat’s updates this morning

I left food overnight for Kelly, but both bowls were uneaten this morning when I checked at 3.30am. I got up at 3am, unable to sleep. Since then, I’ve offered various types of food, but she doesn’t want to eat. So, the only time she ate was at around 7pm yesterday where she ate kibble…

  • Kelly eats…only a little bit

The vet said to give Kelly canned food during recovery, so that’s what I offered first. It’s tuna with chicken, but she wasn’t interested at all. Then I tried Monge kibble and she was quite interested in it. Maybe she’s used to eating kibble. I asked what the gardener gives her and he said it’s…

  • Kelly Cat is spayed!

I don’t remember if I’ve written about this cat. Kelly Cat (just named her this morning) is a cat who wanders around the guardhouse at my housing area. She’s fed by the guard and a gardener. I’ve long wanted to get her spayed, but was delayed because she was nursing newborns from her second litter.…

  • Juno finally hits 3kg!

Finally! Not easy to get her onto the scale, but I repeated this several times. It’s real! Tail included, Juno has finally hit 3.00kg!!!! She’s such a small eater, preferring to graze throughout the day like Riley. But whatever it is, Juno is still fiercely loyal to and protective of Puppy, her very first toy!…

  • Is Creamy moving into our porch?

Creamy’s owners are back already. I saw clothes on their clothesline, but Creamy seems to want to stay put in our porch. He appears to want to come in. But actually, he just wants to stay in the porch. But so does Gerald. There lies the problem. The porch isn’t “big enough” for two cats,…

  • Creamy’s collar is missing

Creamy came for breakfast this morning and his collar is missing. He is no longer wearing his collar. I wonder what happened. No point in speculating because we will never know. Gerald is peeping from afar.

  • Selamat Hari Raya, Abu!

The the last few days, Creamy aka Abu had been spending a lot of time at our porch. This morning, when I woke up, I already saw him sleeping on top of our car in the porch. Selamat Hari Raya, Abu! His family must have gone back to their hometown. For new readers, we’ve been…

  • The Blondies and Juno

Kai has really stopped showering urine from atop the door! Shh… I have not heard Akira bullying Juno for the last two days. Indra has already stopped bullying Juno too ever since the “Rey-treatment”. Samantha is totally unaffected by all the goings-on in their territory. Oh wait, she fights with Rey every day – this…

  • The drama-king is at it again

Huge drama from Gerald this morning. He was not happy that he was kept inside Bunny’s Place all of last night. But it was he who asked to be let in. I know, he wants to stay in the Safehouse with Riley, Tabs and Juno, but that is not possible because Gerald sprays. So, this…

  • Something to think about – cat cafes

The news: https://news.sky.com/story/cat-cafes-should-be-phased-out-rspca-warns-13331963 Pertinent points from the article: The charities say that the cafe environment makes it “almost impossible” to meet the welfare needs of the cats, as they may be stressed by forced proximity to other animals and strangers. “We don’t believe these environments can consistently provide cats with a good quality of life…
