Mommy-Brickfields Cat spayed
Yesterday, Agnes brought Mommy-Brickfields Cat for spaying at our panel vet. Two feeders helped catch her and her litter of 4 kittens last week. Mommy-B is doing well and recovering now. Boarding till she is ok. Most of our panel vets provide boarding until recovery. This relieves the rescuer from having to provide post-operative nursing…

CNRM
I gave a talk on Kindness to Animals last Sunday, and took the opportunity to introduce CNRM to the audience. CNRM is one of the main projects of AnimalCare. I tweaked the acronym from the commonly-known TNR which is practised in many countries. TNR stands for Trap-Neuter-Release. This means strays animals are trapped using humane…

Felix moves house
Felix moved house today – from PJ to Subang Jaya! The place where we had boarded him had a new boarder – a dog with parvo virus. Although the virus from dogs would not spread to cats, I could not take the chance with little Felix as he is already sick (still has the flu…

They Get Jealous Too!!
Animals do get jealous. And today, I experienced for myself the extent of such jealousy amongst my eight cats. I had to foster Felix, the little tabby kitten I rescued yesterday. He had an eye infection and none of the fosterers I contacted could help me out. So I took him back, despite having eight…

Felix, the Red-Eyed Guardian Angel
Guardians angels are indeed everywhere. This morning, my students came up to me and told me excitedly that they saw a little kitten with red eyes at the five-foot-way. I went down to look and there it was, this little tiny ball of fur, looking very sick with red bulging eyes. The eyes were definitely…

A Pot Pourri of Little Tasks
Since our website became public, we’ve been having very positive and encouraging response. Besides the requests for spaying and neutering and the few emergencies, we also had a call from Port Klang last week asking us how to rescue two puppies stuck in a drain. Another call came from a friend about a lost dog…

June Angels
AnimalCare is only officially one-month old now, but we’ve had quite a bit work to do since our soft launch. Besides helping out with the Ketam dogs and their medical treatment, we have also rescued and rehomed Chilli a.k.a Cleo. We did our best for Kaiser, but he passed on peacefully. We also rescued Sporo,…

In Loving Memory of Kaiser
On 28th June (Sunday), a little kitten was trapped in the engine of a van. The driver was unaware and had started the engine, and it took an hour for helpers to extricate the little kitten out of the engine. He sustained massive injuries. The helpers then called me, and a friend helped rush the…

Charlotte, Chilli & Cleo!
Charlotte a.k.a Chilli is one lucky kitten! Rescued near Silva’s, she was fostered with an abundance of love and affection by I-SAW and many other students. Now, Chilli has a permanent home with my friend, Jas and her daughters, Komal and Ashy. And she has been re-named Cleo (after Cleopatra), and according to Jas, she…

We talked to the residents to encourage them to bring their pets and the stray animals in for spaying and neutering. We also did…
