  • Mac’s very resilient

I collected Mac at about 7pm this evening when the vet called.  The vet had managed to remove FIVE of Mac’s rotting teeth, and it seems he did not put up a fight at all.  And that’s without anaestesia.  That’s one tough guy we’re talking about here…he can really withstand pain.  But these are all…

  • Tiger’s home treatment…with some “help”?

Remember Tiger has a wound on his left fore leg?  Well, besides the medicines, I have to give him a dry hot compress three times a day. Today has been a crazily busy day for me, with our Bentong trip and Mac’s treatment at the vet’s, so I’ve just managed to do the second hot…

  • Football team is doing well

Today, Ainey and I paid a visit to the football team at Yi Lin’s house.  Chelsea greeted us most happily as we entered the gate. Oooh….look at the football team!  They have grown so much! “Can I let them out”, asks Ainey. The team made a beeline for mama’s milk.  Oh dear, you guys are…

  • Mac’s aging condition

Just as we were about to leave LLLP, I received a phonecall from my daughter, Ming-Yi.  Ming-Yi had taken Mac to the vet’s and we had to make some decisions for Mac. Apparently, Mac has many, many old-age related problems now.  As with us humans, we too will face many degenerative problems when our time…

  • Rahnee Day Two

I visited Rahnee after coming back from LLLP.  She appears to be alright. Rahnee sleeping. I have told Rani to take Rahnee back today – she would definitely be more comfortable back at home. We wish Rahnee a quick recovery and may she be on her (three) feet soon!

  • 7th visit to LLLP

We left in four cars today – mine, Mandy’s, Chee Onn’s and Jamie’s.  It was raining quite heavily when we started, but the rain stopped when we reached LLLP. Shall I let the photos tell the story? Hello, friends…how are you? Lots more new friends.  That’s the dogs greeting Mandy and Jamie. Ainey saying hi.…

  • Sunway Lagoon Club Sunday Flea Market

Good morning, everyone. We have been invited to open a booth at the Sunway Lagoon Club Flea Market on 1st November – that’s Sunday (tomorrow).  We’ll be selling our latest batch of tshirts (come check out our new sizes!), distributing free books, promoting our cause, and running an adoption drive of kittens (no puppies, sorry – house…

  • Our 7th LLLP trip tomorrow

Why LLLP?  Well, I’ve got it wrong before – so sorry.  It’s “Park” and not “Farm”, as in Lotus Life Liberation Park (not Farm).  So, it’s LLLP. After visiting Rahnee, I went home again, to see to the fusebox and restore the power supply in my house so that the cats would feel more comfortable. …

  • Rahnee is ok

After packing the tshirts, I rushed to Healing Rooms to settle Rahnee’s bill, thinking that Rani would have picked up Rahnee at 7.00pm as agreed.  The clinic was already closing by then.  To my surprise, the vets said Rani had not turned up at all.  Oh dear… Then, I realised my hp battery got gone…

  • Our new tshirts

It’s been a totally mad day for me today…. First, it was Rahnee’s case.  Then, Tiger’s.  Next, the labelling and packing of 400 new tshirts!  That took at least three-and-a-half hours.  What you see above is not even half of the shipment.  I thought I could rest after that, but no…. Read on….

  • Chow’s surgery went well

Chow’s surgery was successful.  The vet said there were no less than 100 maggots in his ears.  Goodness gracious… Poor Chow must have been really suffering the pain and discomfort of it all. Now, it’s a matter of letting the antibiotics and rest-time for him to heal. Then, we have to look for an adopter……

  • A German Shepherd, an old friend, and more Tiger tales

After Rahnee’s case, a large German Shepherd came through the doors of the clinic, with owner in tow, and what do you know….it was my former schoolmate of 30 years ago, Angeline Devindran!! Angeline brought one of her four dogs, Ozzie (sorry if the spelling is wrong) for a check-up because he has been panting…

  • Wishing Rahnee a safe surgery now

Terry, Rani and I were there to see Rahnee off for her surgery this morning.  I’ve been thinking about it all night, and wondering if the three of us had made the right decision in choosing this option for Rahnee (Rani actually asked me to decide, so Terry and I made the decision, based on…

  • Please support and promote the No-Kill Policy

Dear all,As you know, we fully support, advocate, encourage, appeal for and practise the no-kill policy in animal protection and all our work.  I have, time and again, written much about this issue and voiced our gravest concern on people who use euthanasia as a convenient way out of taking responsibility and going that extra…

  • Keeping pets in apartments and condominiums

My friend, Amanda, wrote to me about this issue – of keeping pets in apartments and condominiums.  Amanda lives in a rented condominium.  Her landlord (a Singaporean) allows her to and encourages her to keep a pet, but she is wary that neighbours might complain since it is against the condo policies.  Here’s calling all…
