  • Children forced to stomp on defenceless animals in the Philippines

This is news from PETA Asia:PETA Asia has just blown the lid off a horrifying and heartbreaking case in the Philippines that involves cruelty to two of the most vulnerable members of any society—children and animals. You will need a strong stomach to read on, but please know that for the first time in history,…

  • Why? Is this necessary??

Someone sent me this link: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sciencetech/article-2019871/First-glow-dark-cat–Now-meet-Tagon-worlds-glowing-dog.html#ixzz1TRq80urDGosh, why must humans do such things? Animals are not meant to be experimented with. They are meant to be helped and respected AS THEY ARE.  One wonders how many cats and dogs have been sacrificed in order to “successfully” produce these glow-in-the-dark animals.I hear there are also tea-cup pets now,…

  • Karuna back at the temple

I was worried that Karuna might not have food to eat back at the temple today since she went back after noon (the temple devotees bring food for dana for the monastics, which is only for lunch), so I called the temple caretaker, Harsha, to ask if there was any food for Karuna.  Harsha, bless him, said…

  • Karuna is discharged and back at the temple

Karuna has been discharged today. Chong went to the clinic to take her back to the temple this morning.  I’ll be visiting her when the traffic clears. On Friday afternoons, the traffic in Subang Jaya is total madness.

  • The cat has mange (has not been beaten up)

Ref: http://animalcare.my/2011/07/fosterer-needed-for-injured-cat.htmlIt turned out that the cat has mange and has been scratching himself until he bled. So, it’s not attack or bite marks, but self-scratches. A fosterer is no longer needed now, and Cathy has paid for required the treatment.

  • Baby Paloh’s case (a baby elephant needs OUR help)

UPDATES: Baby Paloh has been freed!!  But please continue to source out any form of animal cruelty and send the news to me – I’ll post it here and we can collectively do something constructive about it.  For one who doesn’t even have the time to read the newspapers or listen to the news, I…

  • Winnie Low sends her rescues for spay-neuter

Winnie Low first contacted me to seek help to rescue a few dogs in North Port. Winnie suspects these may be abandoned dogs, and the piece of land where they reside in is totally barren. Winnie’s father has been feeding them bread and leftovers. No one responded to her request for help, so Winnie thought she…

  • Human cruelty knows no bounds (bear bile)
