  • Who is this kitty here?

It is Cow Mau, occupying the new cat basket, bought for Riley, but she wasn’t interested (she prefers the big bed, sleeping next to me). Then, Tabs wasn’t interested either, so I put it in Bunny’s Room. Cleo was interested initially, but Cow Mau has got it now. Can you share it with Cow, Cleo?…

  • Sam moves the kittens again

Today is Day 18 and Sam has moved the kittens again. She just moved them into this nearby box. That’s Riley playing in the toy house we made for the kittens. And later, Akira actually explored and went into the toy house! I am still feeding them every 3-4 hours except for the nights. No…

  • Updates from Survivor Shelter

Here’s a quick update: The number of dogs at Survivor’s is back to 48 now. The new dog who was supposed to arrive was instead sent to a fosterer by the group that rescued him. Here are some photos sent by the caretaker. The dogs are eating the canned food we sent. Happy eating, doggies!

  • Updates on Kinta Dog

Mr Lu informed us yesterday that they have not returned Kinta Dog to her former colony because there is a bald patch on top of her head which looks like a skin problem. They will take care of her until that patch heals before releasing her. We thank the organisation for taking such good care…

  • Thank you very much (February 2023 donors)

On 24th February this month, we increased our maximum Neutering Aid rates to the following: Maximum for dog neutering: RM200 Maximum for cat neutering: RM120 It’s been very, very sad, as always, to learn of the fate of street dogs over the last two months or so. We hope that by increasing our Neutering Aid…

  • The Kota Bharu Neutering Project is cancelled

There has been too much miscommunication over this project. The sponsor who first approached us for help called us tonight, disagreed with what was agreed yesterday and finally we have been informed that our help is no longer required. Ms Amy will also not be helping her, but has passed on the project to a…

  • The case in Prai – the importance of neutering

I think most of you would have read about the case in Prai by now. It was highlighted yesterday though social media. This “shelter” (or was it just a hoarder’s place?) had 100 dogs, all unneutered, all in dire straits and not cared for. We heard through a friend that the operator does not believe…

  • The kitties want to play!

I found Kai outside the box this morning. I think he came out on his own to play and explore. Akira and Indra were also very active, trying to get out of the box while our girl, Samantha, was just as crazy, trying to get out to see Gerald, who was making a lot of…

  • Jayden feeds Gerald and Creamy!

We do not inherit the earth from our ancestors; we borrow it from our children (and grandchildren)! Hi Gerald, I’ll share this toy lion with you too!

  • Survivor’s dogs enjoying the treats and Lucky’s updates!

Ms Ong sent the following photos. Her dogs enjoy the Alps Natural treats gifted by Avant Pet yesterday. And the canned food from our donors too. Happiness!!! Loving the treats and canned food! As for Lucky, he is not at all choosy. He eats whatever food is served. Have a happy life, Lucky!

  • Updates on the Kota Bharu Neutering Project

An update on 27th February 2023 – This project did not take off the ground. Ms Amy has passed this project to another organisation in Kota Bharu. A wise decision.   The original post: We called Ms Amy today to get an update on what is going on with the Kota Bharu Neutering Project. Here’s a…

  • We are on track again…phew!

    So now I see a pattern – they grow in spurts even at this age. 24-Feb 6am 346 313 352 24-Feb 6.30pm 353 327 345 25-Feb 7.30am 368 327 351 25-Feb 6.30pm 373 327 350 26-Feb 7am 387 361 366 I wasn’t so worried about Akira despite her not gaining weight for 24 hours. I…

  • Some photos of Sam and her kittens & a feeding chart

    The kittens are much more active now. Kai gained some weight, but Akira and Indra have not. I think it may have something to do with the deworming? 23-Feb 7am 339 294 312 23-Feb 6pm 339 310 330 24-Feb 6am 346 313 352 24-Feb 6.30pm 353 327 345 25-Feb 7.30am 368 327 351 25-Feb 6.30pm…

  • Good plans from Ipoh on stray management

The news: https://www.malaymail.com/news/life/2023/02/20/ipohs-stray-management-programme-to-be-a-private-initiative-supported-by-animal-welfare-groups/55826 So, no more dumping at the Papan landfill. Hopefully all that is proposed takes off. “We targeted to raise RM400,000 for the programme through a fundraising dinner in July but at the end of the event, we did not manage to get the amount required.” However, not long after that, the society was…
