Robin stands his ground

This morning, Robin had yet another encounter with Smurfy.

I was right there, so I bore witness to the whole episode.

Smurfy started it first.

I was just about to feed everyone and I started with Robin first because he eats at his privileged spot on the table. Robin was starting to eat his RC urinary wet food when Smurfy suddenly jumped up simply to intimidate his little brother.

(It looks like the name “Smurfy” didn’t make him timid at all. In fact, he’s quite the bully.)

I tried to stop Smurfy but he was not deterred, so Robin decided to take matters into his own paws and chased Smurfy away.

Of course Smurfy was terrified and ran all the way to the platforms and up to safety.

You see….why oh why must you start a fight, Smurfy? You asked for this.

Robin on the ground, Smurfy up on the platforms.

I had to catch Robin back to his table, calm him down so that he starts eating again. Luckily for me, Robin obediently ate his urinary food this morning without needing much incentives. By incentives, I mean his cut raw chicken meat.

Because of the Robin-Smurfy, the peace was affected and only Ginger, Minnie and Lynx ate with buffet-styled breakfast. I put various foods into small bowls that they have a choice.

Rey ate a little later.

Smurfy finally came down to eat.

Then, it was time to give Robin his medicines. This proves to be getting a bit more difficult by the day. I think he already feels better so he’s probably wondering why I’m still feeding him medicines. Oh dear…I have to give him the Cystophan for more than two weeks, probably for six weeks because the bottle says treatment for two weeks and maintenance after that.

But what Robin hates the most is to have water being syringed into his mouth. I must say that I’ve never encountered another cat, in my 19 years of looking after cats, who hates it more than Robin. He spat out the water and retaliated by spraying urine on the pillar. What a powerful jet of urine that was too!

Oh boy…

Well, at least he could spray urine, so isn’t that good? Confirmed that he is definitely recovering, or perhaps, already recovered.

This is called seeing the good in everything!
