Visiting Kelly

I pass by the guardhouse every day, so I do see Kelly every single day.

She will be at the guardhouse area when it’s not so hot or if it’s meal times which is three times a day. When it gets hot, she is at the VIP’s house. When it rains, she is also there.

This morning, since it is a Saturday (no kindergarten speedsters), I went down to visit Kelly and to check on her food supply.

She is so friendly and she’s nibbling at my hand now, which shows more affection and trust.

Cats nibble on people for various reasons, often to express affection, communicate, or explore. Gentle nibbles, often called “love bites,” are a common way cats show fondness and bond with their owners, similar to how they groom each other. However, biting can also indicate overstimulation, playfulness, frustration, or even fear, so it’s important to understand the context of the bite.

It’s all about context, and sometimes some cats are unable to control the extent of their nibbling too. Tiger was like that. Juno bites quite hard too, but it’s because of lack of control, I know. Kelly is very gentle.

The guard told me that she did not like the new jar of kibble I brought and I know why. She loved the Monge previously, but the new jar, I added a bit of Cindy’s kibble and she did not like this, so I took the jar back. Kelly now eats the RC Mothercat and Baby donated by the other neighbour.

As I was walking back, as usual, Kelly followed me up the road. This is her usual routine.

I stopped and she stopped too, then she played around the bamboo plant. I tried to offer her some of the mixed kibble and she ate! The guard saw and said perhaps it’s okay. I said I know what to do.

So after eating and playing, I took the jar home….

And I separated the Monge kibble from the Cindy kibble until everything was separated.

See?

Then I sent the jar of Monge back to the guardhouse for Kelly!

Now, who is going to eat this Cindy’s? Our cats used to eat it, but not anymore. The Monsters will eat it gradually, I know. Not the girls. All our girls are super fussy!
