Tara goes to the vet
Today is Tara’s turn to visit the vet. When I reached the house, she hid inside her cage and refused to go out. I had to carry her into the car. Guess Sean must have “told” her about that terrible place where they stick a needle into you and scrape your skin. Unlike Sean, Tara…

Cleo – lost…..and found!
All the cats in my house are actually CNRM-ed cats, but over the years, they have become our pets. And they have been given the freedom of choosing their own territory. Cow and Bunny, being the self-declared alphas, got the entire house. Their sister, Pole, decided she preferred the neighbourhood, so she is always within the vicinity of…

Tyger, Tyger, Burning Bright…
William Blake’s immortal poem on the Tiger: The Tyger Tyger! Tyger! burning bright, In the forests of the night, What immortal hand or eye Could frame thy fearful symmetry? In what distant deeps or skies Burnt the fire in thine eyes? On what wings dare he aspire? What the hand dare seize the fire? And…

Thank you for your CNY blessings
Many children these days do not know the significance of the “angpow” on Chinese New Year, and, sadly, they equate it to money (the bigger the angpow, the better it is). The angpow is traditionally meant as a token which accompanies a blessing from an adult to those who are younger (and/or unmarried). Big or…

A chicky feast for Bandit and Xiao Li
Bandit and Xiao Li had boiled chicken today. I thought I would need to do everything possible to beef them up since both appear to be still quite emaciated. Yesterday, they had two meals of AD, and kibbles in between. Xiao Li, enjoying her food. Little Bandit, enjoying it even more. I had to separate them…

Bandit and Xiao Li
I stopped by at the clinic today as I was very concerned about Bandit and Xiao Li. The two have distended tummies although they had already been dewormed. So I got them both dewormed again today. And I found out today that Bandit and Xiao Li are actually not from the same litter. That accounts…

What could be wrong with PJay?
PJay is one of our rescued dogs. Ainey picked him up from the highway more than a month ago, and to cut a long story short, PJay underwent surgery to insert a metal pin to rejoin his femur which was badly fractured. That was about a month ago, and until today, PJay is still refusing…
