  • We’re doing a BLACK tshirt, after all!!

I wrote this posting below this morning thinking that I will only announce it when I have the mock-up for the black version, but I’ve been thronged with so many emails all afternoon asking for the black, I might as well just publish the posting now! Here goes: I know we made a decision a few days…

  • The PURRfect cat fence

Ref: http://www.purrfectfence.com/ Agnes and Sumitra came a-visiting two days ago and also to collect their tshirts.  We got talking about nasty animal-hating neighbours and how to protect our cats from the likes of them. Agnes told me about these “purfect” cat-fences and she’s already installed it in her house. I had heard about deer fencing…

  • The Penang Animal Sanctuary Society, a proposed no-kill sanctuary

In the course of sourcing help for Devakie’s case in Penang, a few readers alerted me to this news! Check it out, please: www.penanganimalsanctuarysociety.com The readers wrote: Lend a hand. Share a heart. The Penang Animal Sanctuary Society (PASS) has been in existence for more than six years. The society has recently garnered a platform, from…

  • Heaven on Earth

You know, with so much cruelty to animals in our concrete jungle, I’ve always had this wish that one day, animals would rule the earth.  It is so unfortunate that humans, endowed with a heart and mind capable of compassion and generosity, cannot live harmoniously with animals.  If animal ruled the earth and humans were…

  • Very sad news (Rascal)

Punitha called today to say she has spoken to the cleaners and the dead cat found was Rascal.  This was based on the description of the collar and markings on the cat.  Sigh…. I’m so sad to hear this, but we must move on and learn a lesson from this and be wiser after this. …

  • The cat with the “broken paw”

Good news, everyone.  Ref: http://animalcare.my/2011/04/injured-kitten-with-broken-paw.html Sofie said there are no external wounds and the cat (whom she now calls “Toothless”) reacted by trying to bite Sofie when she pinched his paw.  So this confirms that it is probably either a deformity or an old injury and nothing needs to be done about it. In fact,…

  • Maneki the Cat….and our tshirt

Amanda ordered our new tshirt and it arrived today by PosLaju.  Amanda wrote: Dear KY, Thank you! The t-shirt just arrived, and I love it. Just as Suki was your color inspiration for the original model, Maneki is thrilled to see a t-shirt in dilute tri-color shades. 🙂 (Crumpet, being black, considers herself perfectly attired…

  • Cocker had already been spayed before this

Cocker was rescued by Jovi sometime last week.  She’s obviously a lost or abandoned pet, but so far, no one has come forward to claim her. So, Jovi decided to have her spayed first before putting her up for adoption.  The appointment was supposed to be yesterday, but the vet was very short-handed. It was…

Penny was adopted by Roy & Evelin (who adopted Tinsel from us two years ago) from the Metta Karuna Rescue Team.Today, Agnes (who is the founder of the Metta Karuna Rescue Team) brought Evelin and Penny to our panel vet.  They even got to watch the entire operation (where Penny was spayed). Evelin with Penny, the…

  • Rascal’s case (updates from Punitha)

From Punitha: Hi Ms.Kah Yein, I have sent a message to David, the man who called to inform me about the incident he feels involved Rascal and led to his death. I have asked him to get details from the cleaner who found the cat, regarding the color, markings, collar or anything else that may…

  • Poor Rascal (very sad news this time)

I am so extremely sad as I write this news now, yet it has to be written, if it’s for the sake of education and raising awareness.  Rascal was one of Punitha’s rescued cats.  His first adopter returned him because she was afraid cats wouldn’t be good for her due-to-be-born baby.  His second adopter returned…
