Happy Meatless Friday with a moringa breakfast!
I’ve learnt about the bountiful benefits of the moringa plant so we managed to get two saplings about a month ago and planted them in pots. They are both growing very well. After learning to identify the leaves, we noticed at least five moringa trees in our neighbourhood, by the roadside. They aren’t very tall…

Happy Meatless Monday!!
Here we go again, another Monday and another good day to save the animals….by not eating them. The photo below is not my breakfast today. It was lunch on some other day. I’m still doing intermittent fasting and I don’t eat breakfast until much, much later. These are Kampung Harvest eggs where the hens live…

Happy Meatless Saturday!
Nothing new compared with yesterday’s, but just to share a few new practices I’ve only recently discovered (silly me!). I’m using fresh turmeric again, and of course, with black pepper to enhance the bioavailability of the turmeric. Lots of garlic too. I don’t cook the Chinese (wok hei) style – that’s not healthy. So I…

Happy Meatless Friday!
Today’s breakfast! There is no oil at all, and I used garlic and fresh turmeric, hence the yell0w colour in the gravy, which I thickened with the green jackfruit flour. This is how I consume the green jackfruit flour now – as a gravy thickener. Bon Appetit!

Happy Pescetarian Tuesday!
In case anyone here is on a low-carb diet, this konjac product is low-carb and even keto-friendly. It comes in several options – noodles, rice, koay tiow, etc. And konjac is the root of a plant found in Asia. I always believe that we should eat according to our geographical ancestry. After all, evolution is…

Happy Meatless Tuesday with lazy-styled guacamole
Guacamole Malaysian style (for dummies) I was going to make avocado pancakes with mashed avocado and green jackfruit flour, but it was too difficult to mash up the avocado. So I decided just make guacamole with tomatoes, without the mashing. Note: Tomatoes are better eaten cooked because the lycopene walls break down with heat and…

Happy Meatless Saturday with a green jackfruit flour meal!
Here’s what I just discovered recently, from a TED talk by an Indian researcher: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bSsZYhXLE6Y The green jackfruit flour can reverse fatty liver, pre-diabetes and even diabetes. Just one tablespoon per day (per meal) into their roti. So I started hunting for the product; found it in Lazada Singapore but they do not ship to…

Happy Meatless Monday!
My brunch! I know you always see the “same old dish” from me, and that’s because it IS the same old dishes. However, if you look more closely, you might see different types of vegetables that make up the dish! I just learnt recently that “keeping the meals as boring as ever” is actually a…

My personal challenge (a sharing about determination and willpower)
This is not a sharing about medical, nutritional or exercise advice. Rather, It is a sharing about determination and willpower, traits which I believe all of us do need when doing our animal caregiving work and taking care of ourselves. It is also a sharing about my own health. And disclaimer alert first: Every body…
