• Little Daisy needs our prayers

The 3 musketeers’ fosterer just texted to say Daisy hasn’t been doing well since this afternoon. She has stopped drinking milk and has quickly gone back to her skinny look. It all happened too quickly. Far too soon. There is still a lot of worms in her poo as well. The fosterer has been giving…

  • Dog, in critical condition (Shirley’s)

A lady called Shirley called me last week, asking if we could help subsidise the treatment of a rescued dog. I offered our usual subsidy and advised her to take the dog to the vet’s as soon as possible. Subsequently, there was no photo and no news, so I thought the dog did not need…

  • Subsidy for Flower and Coco, survivors of feline panleukopenia (Anita Chen’s)

Flower and Coco are two rescued cats of Anita Chen’s. Both came down with feline panleukopenia, a frightening disease, also known more commonly as feline distemper which is caused by the feline parvovirus. Interestingly, the feline parvovirus was discovered first, and is thought to have mutated to become the canine parvovirus which affects dogs. • Bobby’s fun in the sun

Ever since Dr Susanna said Bobby had lost a lot of muscle mass because he is not keen to move, we’ve decided to make him walk more each day. So, this evening, we took Bobby out to the front garden to let him walk.        It was quite amazing…to watch Bobby wobble initially,…

  • Tabs’ 2nd vaccination

Last Friday, I brought Tabs for her 2nd vaccination.  A bit of complaining during the short car-ride.  I told the vet he said Tabs was “very alpha” but she doesn’t seem to be so in my household. The vet said Tabs IS alpha, but not aggressive. Aha…alpha in a good way? As in, very confident?…

  • Walking the extra mile on nutrition for cats (Szetoo Weiwen’s sharing)

Szetoo Weiwen was a first-time rescuer when she first wrote to me. She found 4 kittens (later named Bruce, Jet, Donnie and Jackie – all after martial arts exponents) abandoned in a box, and though she went back 3 nights, hoping to find the mum-cat, she ended up fostering all four of them. She took…

  • Our interconnection and holistic healing

Dr Susanna shared this: http://www.spaceandmotion.com/health/index.htm Immediately, what caught my eye and attention (and agreement) would be these: 1. The interconnection of all things – humans, animals, plants and the earth itself. How many of us have forgotten and are ignorant of this. And as a result of this ignorance, we fail to help each other,…

  • It’s…..the Sunnies!!! (Rozita Halim’s)

Emails that never fail to get me all happy and excited are those that come from friends (previously, strangers) who have adopted kittens from me, particularly, those who still keep in touch with me regularly with photo updates – the Sunnies, the Blueys and Teddy & Xiao Li. Sad to say, the earlier adopters are…

  • Karuna’s medical treatment

Ref: http://animalcare.my/2011/12/26/karuna-has-a-new-foster-home/ As you know, we could not get Karuna adopted, so an elderly Uncle is fostering her for us. Karuna was not our rescue, but we chose to take over because I could not risk her getting attacked by the wild dogs again at the temple. That was how she became our responsibility. A quick…
