Sakura is now officially “Hiro”, an attempt to catch Misty
I texted my vet “Sakura’s” photo to ask if she/he is male. She says the photos are not clear, but I’m really quite sure he is male. So whether male or female, Sakura is now officially Hiro. Hiro is a gender-neutral name. Hiro (ひろ, ヒロ) is primarily a Japanese given name with multiple meanings, dependent…

Good morning, Kai, Akira, Indra and Sam!
Breakfast for the kitties! Today, it’s Coco&Joe’s and Cubgrub’s Duck as the novel protein. Little Indra prefers Coco&Joe’s. Akira absolutely loves the Duck. Where is Kai? Hiding again? He is under the bedsheet, right smack in the middle of it. Kai prefers Coco&Joe’s too. Samantha likes both! Holding the kittens in my hand, they are…

After nebulizing…and is Sakura male?? (Renamed Hiro)
After nebulizing, Sakura was so, so active. I guess the Ventolin mist really helps her feel better. Now that I’m finally not so frazzled (yesterday was a totally mad day for me), I realised that Sakura isn’t a tortoiseshell at all. Silly me… Why did I assume she’s a tortie just because Misty is one?…

Nebulizing Sakura (aka Hiro)
The vet said I could nebulize Sakura (renamed Hiro) twice a day to help clear the congestion. So, here we go… The Omron nebulizer, bought for Ginger last time when he had a most persistent flu. Tabs has used it too. 1/2 vial of Ventolin and 0.3ml saline. Place kitten in carrier. Cover all holes…

Good morning, Sakura (renamed Hiro)
I got up at 1.30am to check in on Sakura (renamed Hiro). I slept really early last night, completely knocked out from the dental surgery. So I got up at 1.30am and could not go back to sleep, might as well start the day…very early, though! Sakura got up shortly after that and came out…

Luckily I sent Sakura (renamed Hiro) to the vet’s (severe flu)
An update: Sakura has been renamed Hiro now. I managed to drop Sakura at the vet’s while I was on my way to my dental surgery and collected her after that. Luckily I sent her. Sakura has severe flu and a lot of allergic cells. An X-ray was taken and it showed that her right…

Kai’s hide-and-seek games
Still playing hide-and-seek, and only Riley can find her! All good. I think Sakura is probably the same age as Samantha’s Three. But look at the difference! This is why street cats and dogs have to be neutered. Those who don’t have hands-on experience or seen the suffering will not understand why.

Who might you be, little one? (Hiro’s arrival)
An update: Sakura has been renamed Hiro. I think Misty brought her kitten to our porch this morning. I was feeding Gerald and Misty when suddenly a tiny little tortie (and I mean, really tiny) popped out from under my car. I think she’s a tortie, but she could be just a black tabby. I…

Oh no! Where is Kai??
Kai was missing during the 8.30pm feeding session just now. She was totally missing. How could she go missing?? The windows are all security windows with a double locking system. There is NO WAY a cat can open them, what more little kitten. But she was really, really missing. I kept calm and fed Indra…

Teaching Gerald and Misty to eat raw food
Gerald and Misty are adults who have probably been eating all sorts of food but raw food. So I have to “teach” them to eat raw food now. I placed a small amount in their bowl of homecooked food. That’s my very own homecooked chicken recipe. They avoided the raw portion and ate around it.…

Duck as a novel protein for the kittens
Today, I introduced Cubgrub’s Duck to the kittens. Samantha loved it, though! The kittens…maybe they weren’t so hungry. They ate a bit of it. Or they were too busy playing. They took to Cubgrub’s Rabbit instantly. Maybe because that’s a very natural food to them. This spoonful is after the main meal to see if…

Calling on all dog lovers in Selangor!
This is our chance to speak up for street dogs. Please support neutering. Let’s hope the people can convince the council and the state to practise Neuter-Return-Manage as a compassionate way to control the street dog population. Catching-and-killing does not solve the problem at all. Please share this widely. Every vote counts. No more killing!!…
