We have provided an aid of RM200 for the neutering of these 2 female cats, Beby and Kuntum. Ms Norsafarina is a new applicant, but we provided her with petfood during the MCO as she was recommended by one of our friends. She looks after many street cats at her workplace in a higher learning…

  • The kittens’ stamina….phew!

The kittens can play for hours and hours! It looks like Rey is the most intelligent and creative of them all. Smurfy is teaching Rey the ropes. And Rey learns very fast. If you play with string-toy with the kittens, while the three will be chasing after the end of the string, Rey traces the…

  • Heidi steals Tabs’ basket

We bought a round rattan basket for two reasons: (1) To support the rattan-weaving industry, a dying trade, and (2) For Smurfy. But as it turned out, Smurfy wasn’t too interested in using it. Instead Tabs liked it, so yes, for Tabs, it’s worth it. However, Heidi has a habit of stealing everything from Tabs.…

  • Playtime for the kittens!

There was a very interesting observation yesterday morning which I forgot to mention. Smurfy tore down all the curtains in the condo cage and was finding a way to open the doors so that his little brothers could all come out to play! Anyway, the kittens get to play every morning now, for hours on…

  • Cat owners MAY have higher immunity for Covid-19

Discliamer: Just sharing the observations. This is the second observation I’ve received. The first was sent by an overseas friend where it was observed that in a certain town somewhere, owners of FIP-cats seemed to have immunity against Covid-19. While many townsfolk were infected with Covid-19, these FIP-cat owners were not. The hypothesis is that…

  • Of kittens, morning hunts and the Lorong Tikus

Minnie and Smurfy refuse to stay put and eat every morning. I think I’ve figured out why. They still have their basal and primal instincts, they need to “hunt” before eating. But of course “hunt” here means “play”. So I have to let them play to their hearts’ content before they would eat. This is…

  • “Play first, eat later….or not at all” – Smurfy’s motto

I’ve been having trouble getting Smurfy to eat because he is too busy playing. As for Minnie, it’s also a problem, but she is in heat, so that explains it. No interest in eating….for both. Today, I managed to give them both B-Complex with the hope that it might give them an appetite. Meanwhile, except…

The next one will be only in 3 months’ time. Minnie has an ear infection. There’s lots of ear wax and she also kept…

  • Happy updates from Ms Ng Choy Har

Yesterday, our long-time supporter and friend ordered and paid for 6 purses handmade by Ms Ng. And yesterday itself, Ms Ng used more than RM600 from the donation to purchase NexGard for her many street dogs. Ms Ng is very, very grateful and happy for the support and she says her wishes to thank the…

  • Betsy’s photo shoot

Remember Betsy? Betsy, a Shitzu, was supposed to have undergone an eye operation to save her eye, but the owner neglected her. Betsy was found with a large e-collar by a good samaritan, on the street, and luckily taken to the “correct” vet. The vet contacted her owner to ask if the eye operation could…
