• Hiro’s visit to the catio

Hiro’s eating much better this morning! I usually supplement all the raw food with my own cut-up meat, liver and the Monsters get gizzards too. Feeding 18 feline mouths is no joke. Raw food is expensive. For the Monsters, they get bigger pieces of meat. Here’s Tabs, Riley and Hiro eating in the kitchen this…

  • Poisoned animals in Penang – keep your animals indoors, please

This news has graphic images, so for the faint-hearted, you may not wish to click on it: https://www.freemalaysiatoday.com/category/nation/2023/04/05/29-dead-dogs-in-a-month-one-too-many-cry-penang-residents/ According to the report, 29 dogs (free roaming and pets) were found dead within the last one month. Cats and birds were found dead too. From the symptoms observed, these poor animals were most likely poisoned. Our check…

  • Gerald and Misty’s ongoing training

This morning, the ratio of raw:canned was 1:2. This evening, it’s 1:1. Yes, they sapu habis! I think Gerald can progress faster.

  • Why are the Monsters so well-behaved?

Why indeed? We found all six of them obediently staying at the catio when normally in the evening, they would be happily jumping on the platforms up to the lookout. What happened, boys?  Even their taikor Ginger was just here. Not at the frontlines. What happened, Ginger? Here’s why, folks. Indy is on the platforms!…

  • Where is Hiro?

Can you spot Hiro? Hiro still wants to play with Jayden and so far, he’s been quite skilful at avoiding Jayden’s heavy blows. At the same time, I monitor them closely when they play and have been reminding Jayden to be gentler, please. The bolster case that says CAUTION is so apt!

  • The Princesses who eat like….Monsters!

Haha…but that’s a good thing and I’m certainly not complaining! Eat, eat, eat!! That’s pretty much for kittens, right?  Sometimes, they can eat three times this amount! Chomp, chomp, chomp…. Riley, unlike the Princesses, is an anorexic eater. But her weight is good, so I guess I will let her be.

  • Training the porch cats to eat raw food

I started training Gerald some weeks back but I wasn’t consistent enough, so the training is ongoing, but at the pace I can manage. Inside the house, everyone is on a 100% raw diet but the Super Seniors and Tabs get some leeway. So this morning, instead of one can (of canned food) per cat…

  • Jayden starts his day early…with Hiro!

Checking his books at his office….before the day begins. This rubber wood table, by the way, is my children’s childhood study table. We’ve kept it, so it’s more than 30 years old! It was a small dining table and we had the legs cut short. Every scratch, every mark…has a story. Hiro is helping…from under…

  • Grow bigger, Hiro!

Hiro is still not eating as much as the Princesses. He needs to eat more and I haven’t figured out how to do it yet. But Hiro is becoming rather choosy over his food now. I thought of giving him some canned food for variety and now he wants canned fish! I guess commercial canned…

  • Oh no…what happened, Hiro?

I had to put Hiro in the cage at the patio because Jayden is now so strong and Hiro is still a little too small. Jayden wants to play with Hiro, but he doesn’t know how to control his strength yet. He’s so used to playing with Ginger and with Ginger, you can put your…

  • The Princesses meet their father! (and more good news)

This was this morning’s breakfast. Then, Gerald came to the window as usual and was mewing, so I opened it and let him in. I’m not so worried about opening the window now since Samantha’s been spayed. So, Gerald came in and the Princesses surrounded their father! But Gerald hissed at them… And was more…

  • BARF – First attempt (Joy’s cats)!

Good morning, it’s Joy here. I am on a journey to transition some, if not all, of my cats to raw.  With more than half being seniors, I would like them to benefit from this and have them live their lives healthy to a good old age. First attempt : Ate : 1 (Yasmin) Licked…

  • Cat Litter Conundrum

Joy here, everyone! I am sure many Cat pawrents will agree with me that any one point in their pawrenthood, they would have the Cat Litter Conundrum.  From choosing the right cat litter to the right tray, you somehow, will not get it perfectly right.  But once you find that answer to the mysteries of…
