• Raw food training in the porch

Not much progress so far. Gerald and Misty are already eating 100% raw meals, but Creamy is only willing to eat cut-up raw meat and not Coco&Joe’s. The same as a few days ago. But I’m not complaining because Creamy probably gets food from home so he would prefer canned or kibble.

  • The Blondies and the Pee

“Sigh” is all I can say. So we tried Cat’s Best soft litter. Yes, for “sensitive paws”. Blondie paws. Princesses’ delicate paws. And what did they do? Well, on the first day after I replace the tofu litter with Cat’s Best Sensitive, they still did it all over the room. Nobody used the litter boxes…

  • Rey caged and Hiro visits Bunny’s Place

As you know, Rey has been a total nuisance, constantly jumping over to Bunny’s Place and disturbing the Super Seniors till no end. So I resorted to caging him in Indy’s cage so that the Super Seniors can eat in peace without him going around smacking them. But the downside of caging Rey is that…

  • The meeting with MUDA

Ref: https://animalcare.my/2023/04/07/parti-muda-responds/ I met the three MUDA members today. They were Yen Hau, Azeemah and Adam. Yen Hau is camera-shy so he took the photo. That’s Azeemah and Adam with me. Basically, it was the few cases of abuse which had surfaced lately that made this group of MUDA members feel that they would like to…

  • The boys’ visit to “Farm in the City”

Ryan and Jayden had a day trip to Farm in the City in Seri Kembangan today! Ryan was a little scared of the animals (his interest is in vehicles) but Baby J had a field day! He was so happy, excited and not scared in the least! Our little zoologist!

  • Spain’s new Animal Welfare Law introduces mandatory sterilisation of cats younger than six months

The news: https://euroweeklynews.com/2023/04/07/spains-new-animal-welfare-law-introduces-mandatory-sterilisation-of-cats-younger-than-six-months/ Excerpts: Spain’s new Animal Welfare Law has been published in the Official State Gazette (BOE) and the countdown to its entry into force on 29 September now begins. In the meantime, all guardians of dogs, cats, and other pets should inform themselves about the new legislation and make the necessary changes so as not to…

  • Cat’s Best litter for the Blondies

A kind reader suggested that I try Cat’s Best litter instead of the tofu litter that I’m using because the tofu litter may poke the Blondies paws. I already use the 2.0mm tofu litter, but yes, it still pokes. So, I went to the store and found that there are now two types of Cat’s…

Dear Friends and Supporters, It is with the greatest pleasure and gratitude that I welcome my dear friend, Maslinda Abdul Talib, on board as one of AnimalCare’s Authors! • Only two Blondies vaccinated, Indra has an eye infection

This afternoon, I took the Blondies (aka Princesses) and Hiro to the vet’s. The Blondies are due for their first vaccination, and Hiro for another round of deworming. But yesterday I had already noticed that Indra’s left eye was very red and swollen. So I went to that pharmacy and bought Nicol eyedrops and starting…

  • My new taiji cats

Now I have three bodyguards for taiji! Gerald is the chief bodyguard. He takes care of my “weapons”. Yes, the fan is also a weapon. Creamy is keeping guard at a distance. Misty too. And after I’m done, I get a massage from my chief bodyguard!! You absolutely cannot get a more loyal bodyguard. And…

  • Riley whacked Hiro

Riley bullied Hiro today and I saw it with my own eyes. Hiro was just minding his own business on the table next to my computer. Riley lunged at him, whacked him and tried to pick him up by scruffing him like how a mother-cat picks up a kitten. But Hiro is too heavy to…

  • Breakfast for everyone!

Today, we achieved 100% raw for breakfast!! Yes, for all of our 18 cats. The day started with the Porch Cats: Here’s the trick to starting raw that works for our cats – give them cut-up raw chicken meat. Somehow this works better than the homebased raw food with supplements. Maybe it’s “purer”, I guess.…

  • The AnimalCare Authors!

Here’s an update on the AnimalCare TagTeam. Terry Saw has opted to take a break from the TagTeam as he is very busy with a young family and a newborn. So the TagTeam now only has Joy Saga and Josephine Tong. And me, of course. We’ve also already created another team called the AnimalCare Authors.…
