Bunny’s meals
Bunny gets to choose from a menu for every meal. I noticed that Bunny’s appetite is “seasonal”. It’s kibble season now. But as you can see, he gets offered three bowls of food: (1) Raw containing Cubgrub and Coco&Joe’s, (2) canned containing Cindy’s and Monge’s Monoprotein and (3) renal kibble. Then, they do musical bowls…

Homemade vs Store-bought pet food: Which should you choose?
Here’s the article: https://rrvet.com/homemade-vs-store-bought-pet-food-which-should-you-choose/ One part says: When researchers from the University of California, Davis, School of Veterinary Medicine performed a nutritional evaluation of 200 homemade dog food recipes, they discovered that most were missing key nutrients. The team evaluated recipes from websites, pet care books, and veterinary textbooks. They reported that 95 percent of the…

Ginger is back on duty
After being exiled for 24 hours out to the catio for defecating in the most unthinkable places inside the house, Ginger is back inside and on active babysitting duty again.

Bunny Bun Buns – some photos
Bunny’s health has been up and down lately. We know he’s as good as he can be, given that he is FIV-positive (on Vetri DMG), has chronic kidney disease (on thrice-weekly subcut), has chronic constipation (under control with medication, laxatives and probiotics), is blind but has eye problems (on Maximum Ophtal) and Bunny is already…

Indy to the vet’s (eye injury)
Indy had been on the sick bay for a few days now but I didn’t suspect anything until he started squinting his left eye yesterday. I checked this eye and it looked inflamed. So today we went to the vet’s. Indy’s third eyelid is inflamed. He also has an ulcer but there are many blood…

The intolerant and unreasonable humans
I’d like to share a story by a friend recently: There is this colony of cats in my neighborhood here. This area used to be bare land, and the colony was already here. Over the years, some people dumped their cats here as well. I was told that there were about 20 cats many years…

Of rescuers and shelters – some thoughts
I first got into the animal community only 16 years ago when I chanced upon Cow, Bunny and Pole as newborns being abandoned on the wet grass beside the road on my morning walk round the playground. I was so ignorant as I knew absolutely nothing about cats, their behaviour nor had I ever even…

Samantha and Riley
Do you remember me writing about a Calico in the neighbourhood whom I think could be Minnie’s daughter and therefore, Smurfy’s sister? When Minnie had first given birth, I had seen her carrying two kittens up and down the road. One was grey (Smurfy?) and another was a Calico. When Minnie came to our house…

What Ginger did
A few days ago, Ginger defecated inside the house. On two occasions and in the most unlikely of places which involved a lot of heavy-duty laundry. We think he’s either gone bonkers on those two occasions or it’s because we have been letting Robin, Lynx, Smurfy and Minnie into the house whenever it rained heavily.…

Cindy’s Creamy for our Super Seniors
Actually, it’s for Bunny. He’s so very choosy these days and he has protein loss, so I need to ensure he eats. As the vet said, “As long as they eat.” So I decided to try Cindy’s Creamy. It’s a new range. The protein content is 7%, so that’s definitely low enough. And it’s also…

Neutering aid for 1 dog in Ipoh (Wong So Yuen’s) & Updates
We have fully sponsored RM140 for the neutering of this female dog. Ms Wong rescued a mother-dog and her two puppies a few months ago. The mum was neutered in July, sponsored by us. Now, this is one of the puppies. The other puppy has been adopted. Updates on the previously-claimed mother-dog are below.

Tabs, the babysitter
Tabs is a scaredy cat. She is actually scared of everything, ranging from thunder and lightning (granted, even the cavemen were afraid of this) to any stranger coming to visit. But she takes her babysitting duty very seriously. Here’s the proof:

Our Super Seniors….and Rey
Our Super Seniors are back to raw food again now! But they do still get various kinds of food for variety and satiety. Here’s Bunny and Cleo eating their lunch this afternoon. Cleo is on 200ml subcut three times a week. She is also on Amlodipine for borderline high blood pressure and Renal-N for her…

Thank you very much, Ms Amy Lim!
Now that we have gone green in that all our application forms are e-forms, applicants do not need to post their forms and documents to us anymore for the neutering and vaccination aid. We would like to record our utmost gratitude to Ms Amy Lim of Subang Pet Products for allowing us to use her…
