I don’t remember if I wrote this story. It happened on Gerald’s first night in Bunny’s Place, that would be the 9th night, I think. Rey must have accidentally pressed on the Stargate door handle during his ascent (or descent, take your pick!) on Stargate’s gate. That handle is not very secure as the catch…

Gerald still mews, and I’ll go into the room and stay with him. But it’s not just me. Samantha and Indra would be nearby too. Would Gerald like to play with string toys? Gerald is still marking in every litter box. So, I have to keep cleaning the pantry many times a day. But I…

Creamy came this morning. Hi Creamy. Thank you for visiting. Male cats are always very affectionate. I gave him breakfast and after eating, he went home.

The Blondies were very naughty today and wanted nothing but kibble. So, for dinner, after I failed in all my offers, I gave in. Gerald normally doesn’t eat kibble at all, but I served RC’s Dental, which everybody goes crazy over. Gerald is the one eating with Indra on the left. One big family. Mother,…

Whenever Gerald mews, Samantha and Indra come to comfort him. It’s quite touching, and I’m glad Samantha has decided to rekindle the old friendship, with the help of little Indra. Gerald and Samantha were partners in our porch 1.5 years ago before I caught Samantha and only after that did Misty enter the scene. Gerald…

This morning, the moment I got up, while still sitting in bed, Gerald started mewing. He simply has this uncanny knack of knowing exactly when I’d wake up even though I don’t make a single sound. I fed him first because he knows the routine. I always fed Gerald, Misty, Tabs and Riley first, so…

Pet Memorial sent Misty’s cremains back to us this morning. We thank them very much for their compassionate service. When I’m ready, Misty’s cremains will be interred back to the earth in our garden, her home. From stardust to stardust, dearest sweet Misty, until the next Big Bang.

Do you know that I have so, so many photo files labelled as “Gerald & Misty”?  It’s never Gerald alone or Misty alone, it’s always both names together. And I have a separate folder where I keep memorable photos of each cat, that’s in individual names, but for Gerald and Misty, it’s again, “Gerald &…

First thing we did was to get the Monsters back to the catio. Last night, Rey must have accidentally stepped on the door handle of Stargate and opened the gate unintentionally (or was it intentional?).  This morning, I found the entire Monster clan over in Bunny’s Place. But it was raining so heavily, so I…

I miss Misty so much. In the last few months, Misty’s daily routine was set. If I didn’t know if she was already in the porch, she would jump up onto the window sill and call me from there. And if she’s not back yet, and I go out to the porch with her food,…

I was still in shock all afternoon. Gerald came back in the late afternoon and started mewing in the porch. It was his dinner time and I fed him. Luckily he ate. As I’ve observed, it was always Misty who needed him and not vice-versa, but I am very sure he would miss Misty’s friendship.…

It has taken me a whole day and I still have not come to terms with Misty’s sudden departure. But I want to write this tribute to Misty. I think Misty first came to our house in December 2022 or early 2023. I first named her “Trixie” and she wasn’t a regular visitor. Samantha was…

My greatest fear for all outdoor animals. A car accident. Misty was knocked down by a car from the kindergarten this morning. In my morning walk, I saw Gerald and her at the park, then inside the neighbour’s porch. The next thing I knew before completing my third round was a phonecall from my husband…

As much as we’ve scoured the entire park, we could not find Heidi’s grass for the cats anymore. So, the next best would be serai (lemongrass). One pot for Ginger and the Monsters. One for Tabs, Riley and the Blondies! Tabs really likes serai.   Happy chewing!
